Goal Setting Tips-How To Meet Your Goals One Step At A Time

Have you ever set goals before, and then feel that it was hard to meet them? You can easily set your goals and meet them. Be sure to set SMART goals (be Specific, set Measurable and Achievable goals, set Realistic goals which are Time-bound).

After setting your goal, break it into small steps. When you take a step each day, you will be one step closer to your goal with every passing day. Each step is a small change that will have a big impact over time.

Here are three simple ways to meet your goals:

  1. Focus on one step at a time

Do not make the mistake of thinking that you need to make big changes in order to reach your goals. Just ask yourself what is the one thing you can do each day to bring you closer to your goal. Ask that question every day when you wake up every morning, and every night before you go to bed. Think of the one task you need to do, and make sure you compete it before the end of the day.

When you break your goals into smaller steps this way, meeting your goals becomes less daunting. When you complete a small task every day, the little success you enjoy will spur you on. You will also greatly reduce the risk of procrastination!

2.  Pursue you goal single-mindedly

Success requires you to make a decision that you want to be successful. Once you have made a decision, you need to persevere and stay focused. Don’t ever look back and give yourself the opportunity to doubt yourself and reverse your decision.

3. Give yourself credit when credit is due

Even if you have not met your final goal, do give yourself credit for having made the little changes along the way. Giving yourself credit where credit is due will make you feel empowered, and keep you motivated. After all, don’t we all need motivation to achieve our goals?
